The file picker doesn't show the remote drive...

Share it from inside the nextcloud app. Choose pic, press three dots and then it says "send/share". Then it should say " new amethyst post" or similar

Haven't found a good solution to post Nextcloud pictures as a comment. I think the easiest way right now is to download it to the local gallery then post it from inside Amethyst

Not even that. When you download from Nextcloud, it basically just syncs so you can view it on the mobile phone, but you still can't pick it to add to a note. My workaround, as silly as it sounds, is to share the picture to myself from Nextcloud to my signal, save it from Signal, then add to note.

My guess is the resolution gets lost through the signal transfer.

Can't you just copy it within the phone's file system?

Hm thats weird, it does work for me 🤔 maybe it's not the download option but the export option, i can't remember. And right now i can't access my nextcloud to check, because I'm not at home... Speaking of which: is there an easy option to make it accessable on the go?

The old media picker allowed us to choose apps and local options much better. Amethyst isn't the only one that operates this way. Olas and Primal operate this way too. 😩

Yeah, Google is blocking the use for the old picker for new versions on the PlayStore. Let's hope they make this picker better otherwise we will need to make a custom component.

It's about permissions. The old one required the app to get access to ALL media in the device. This one only allows the app to get access to the selected images/videos.

That makes sense. I have found a work around that sucks, but works for me 😂 I find an old photo in the Photos app that I want to share on Nostr and then add it to a Nostr album for easy access.

Graphene OS achieves the same with storage scopes.

Oh wow of course it's a google thing
