This is just a concept, and the question is if it makes better offline money then eCash would do !?
I printed a small chip with a NTAG 424 inside.
It functions like a boltcard.
If you need to verify the balance you can do when you know the lightning server URL:
You can withdraw the Sats later !
But normally you would just send the balance if the receiver got a phone.
But you could trade the coins for goods if no one got a phone.
But a lot of trust would be needed.
What du you think ?

I love the concept, I’m looking into something very similar to be used as rewards system for a coffee shop. Each customer that buys the nfc card gets sats for every purchase. How you got the nfc in a pin, I’d like to make one that can go in a keychain.
i got 3D printers
when you slice the file you can insert a pause
then i place the nfc chip inside
and resume printing
the smallest i found was 22mm circle dimension
with only 0.2mm layerhight

I could see this with an e ink screen on top that shows the total amount of sats, but might be hard to implement
e ink display would be to expensive
if you just use the nfc chip the cost are under 1 usd
+ the printing part
Good idea. I would try to make it thin as you could otherwise. Once 'spent' you could recycle the material if done right.

Yes, I think you are up to something here. Maybe make a short video to show how the chip works. The displayed amount is the key feature imo.
for poker you would just need colored coins
if you buy a lot of them you can load them
with how many sats you like
if you print a value on the coin
its a little limited just from the optics
but yes you could walk away with just the coins
and withdraw later...

i tried to scam the coin
i used a lightning wallet and read the nfc chip
which would give me option to receive the amount on the chip,
i didnt hit receive button immediately
i could now spent the coin, and would hit receive later
BUT as soon someone scans the coin for balance
my claim gets overwritten
so this is really good use, so you can be sure
that the balance stays there if you check the balance !
Cool idea...feels like a physical Lightning bearer card. It’s not as trustless as eCash since you can’t verify the balance offline, but it’s more intuitive for real-world use. Great for semi-offline trades, just not full offline cash. Keep experimenting!

but you could confirm with another tap maybe
