Turning the Damus situation into iOS vs Android is not the solution. Please think bigger picture.

Duopoly ping pong can get tiring. And don’t think Android won’t do something to piss you off enough to run back to apple. Boing boing boing.
GrapheneOS... Fuck Google & Apple
💯I just need to dig into this more to make the shift. It’s in on the list. Has been for a little more than a while.
I was surprised at how big of a process it was to switch phones this time because I just have so much more of my life on my phone rather than my laptop now, but I'm super happy with everything.
There needs to be a workaround
This isn’t an android vs iOS battle, this is a battle between freedom or surveillance 🤙🏻
And iOS is improving their surveillance systems without any aprove of the users 🤮
So the solution is to turn tail and run to another OS instead of pushing back and working through the issue? Not saying you’re suggesting that, but others are. By doing so they are turning it into iOS vs Android and that is shortsighted.
Developing for the browser to keep an avenue open for normies to join us is great, but not giving Apple any more of your money is also important.
What I’m suggesting is changing to a OS that doesn’t tell me what I can use and what I can’t 🤙🏻
And suggesting to don’t build freedom apps in a OS that doesn’t agree with individual freedom 🤙🏻
It's not about IOS vs Android but about continue using IOS vs discontinue using IOS.
1. Apple is a private company, they can do whatever the fuck they want and users would have to just obey.
2. Why devs still write apps for Apple?
3. Why Damus was posted ONLY on Apple Store anyways? It's hilarious to say "damus is a nostr app for decentralized censorship communication, but you post it on a heavily censoring platform.
4. Is not about iOS vs Android, is about closed platform vs open platform.
So all those Apple boys... you have been warned so many times, but you still continue using your lovely shity platform.

If there were a legit Linux phone that had a similar feature set, I’d be all in. As it stands, the best we can use right now is a Pixel with Graphene. Development is so arduous on open source mobile it’ll likely never emerge except for niches like ours, privacy and freedom above all else.
