I just want to know what he lied about.

Like is it some personal thing or financial thing, or is it about the tech itself. Due to how this was handled, it couldn’t have been small.

He’s been branded as untruthful. His business has been co-opted by the state, indirectly through Microsoft.

At this point it’s plausible there was no lie. Or maybe there was. Doesn’t really matter though. This outcome was guaranteed as soon as Microsoft bout the company. GG.

Apparently he hand picked his board.

Which could corroborate not small.

I’m guessing Altman embellished regarding current business model sustainability.

OpenAI just changed their API payment terms to pre-paid from end-of-month payments (I just got the email shortly after the Altman announcement).

Could be a coincidence, but seems like they probably had cash flow issues due to failure to collect payment for GPU hours and now the new CEO’s first action is to switch to pre-paid credits…

Maybe they should have used Bitcoin?

This is a crazy turn of events. He doesn’t fit the MS model but then why sell OpenAI to MS?? Especially with play then pay. That makes no sense knowing how quick expenses add up. So, maybe he has bigger visions and MS won’t let him play by his rules. I do believe MS has exclusive rights to nvidia chips to a large degree which is why I thought he went with MS in the first place. I’m hoping for more information!!! This has been a great cliffhanger for a Friday afternoon 😂

What?
