Modern kids aren't shocked by porn or gore at all, and Nostr was never meant to be kids-friendly to begin with. As for spam, both Twitter and other social networks have always had entire networks of spam bots pushing specific narratives — which is far more disturbing than encountering gay porn.
So, you think it’s fine to dump porn into public feeds? That’s not edgy — it’s pathetic. It says more about the person doing it than anything else: mental illness !
I'm not accusing him of it, at least not till I see convincing evidence. But either way I don't think porn spam is good for nostr while it's growing.
Like with any spam, there's no need to fixate on the porn — and again, anyone can be a "spammer" since it's technically easy to do. The "seriousness" of the act should be judged not by the type of content in the spam, but by the load it puts on the network. Otherwise you'll end up claiming that a black dick is worse than a DDoS.
Impact.
If the network gets DDoSed or spammed with dick pics, it doesn’t matter, as long as the impact is mostly the same to users. (Nostr becoming hard to use)
