It’s not as hard if they use natural birthing positions. The key is to not give birth in hospitals that put you on your back and force you to push and strain. Traditional birthing chairs let you use gravity to help with delivery.

I’ve seen successful deliveries done in the bathtub and ocean. Pretty amazing how different these practices and experiences are from the sterile hospital environment.
Yep. Those things are collectors items here in the Deep South. No cushioned, roomy seat for comfort; only short, squat legs, and a small, *scooped front deck with high back rails, made of a sturdy inelegant hardwood. Women were expected to be back in the field an hour after giving birth. No lolling about in a bed to “recover”. All hands on deck, survival mode.
*so the infant doesn’t hit its head on the chair when mother squeezes it out.
"lolling about" after childbirth is healthy.
