While it certainly has its problems, east Europe is probably the most attractive place for people like us. Can't really talk at the moment though since I need to fix my sleep schedule

I don't see immediately why Eastern Europe is best. My thoughts look like:

-Japan/Taiwan seem like decent places, but might be subject to Chinese politics.

-Scandinavian countries might be good if you have the ability to tolerate the cold.

-Portugal is often overlooked but I've heard nothing negative about them.

-Panama is popular for some reason, but it might just be a cheap place to retire to if you've stacked 6-7 figs.

Instantly off the list are:

-Australia/New Zealand/Germany/UK, due to embarrassingly heavy censorship and surveillance.

-China/African countries, as they are ethnostates where we're not the ethnicity.

-Russia, as they have an aggressive draft and we are men.

-Middle Eastern countries, as they are a permanent warzone.

Worth considering but highly questionable are:

-India/Argentina/Brazil/Philippines/Malaysia, as they lack the serious problems of the US but have notable corruption and poverty.

-Egypt. It doesn't seem to have a notable tech industry, but otherwise seems to have no real problems.

Hey there, I'm currently searching for my eventual "home base" country and I thought I'd share some of the resources I've been referencing.

I've attached a pdf of the Legatum global prosperity index report 2023 which scores countries across 12 metrics like safety, personal freedom, health, economic quality and social capital.

Here's a quick reference to just the table: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legatum_Prosperity_Index

Here's a reference for average net wages across European countries in Euro as well as in international dollars PPP: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_European_countries_by_average_wage

A housing affordability index for European countries across seven metrics:

Global Healthcare Access and Quality Index, 2015

A bit dated, but still seems to be the best source for a broad strokes comparison of healthcare quality across regions.

And finally the IMD World Competitiveness ranking 2022 for some insight into medium term economic outlooks. There's also a booklet:
