There are a select few great customers that i will absolutely go out of my way to make sure they get taken care of but even with that said the rates have had to increase, for example every time i swap a bottle at airgas it is more than the last time, that has been getting ridiculous....

Same here.
One of my first customers was a tree service. They do all their maintenance on the weekends to keep their crews running during the week. When that call comes I show up.
Also if it's scheduled in advance I've been known to schedule things on a Sunday just to avoid traffic and get parking. (Downtown Tampa or St Pete)
Airgas sucks. I actually go out of my way and pay a little more to a mom and pop in my area (Crumpton Welding supply).
Yeah used to have a mom and pop up until a few years ago but airgas is about my only option around here for now
Additional context:
This was for a modification of a t-top on a boat. Though this is fun, It's not the kind of thing that brings in repeat business. Which is why I focus almost entirely on commercial and industrial maintenance.
