Strava has entered a new phase of enshittification. A platform I’m using since 2015 as a cyclist and I was paying for a membership too.
Building a proof-of-concept #Nostrides (web)app is one of my current goals for 2025. As an alternative for Strava. They are itching me too much.

Yes, a Nostr version should be capable of tracking multiple sports, not only cycling!

Night clubs have been replaced by sport clubs, and so the demand for the 'generation nostr' will be massive.

Yesterday, I was listening to an interview with the CEO of Komoot on the OMR podcast (in german). It struck me when he explained how their content creators are rewarded just with fame and badges for uploading and maintaining their tours. There's no plan to offer the community any possibility for monetization! #Nostr with its focus on rewarding valuable content with #zaps , could make platforms like Komoot and Strava obsolete!

With my background in adventure travel and app development, I've seen firsthand how content creators in the outdoor space can be limited by traditional platforms. I believe Nostr has the potential to empower these creators by giving them control over their content, their audience, and their revenue streams. 😉
