any recommendations for a novice?

Osa Península, Costa Rica has a couple of waves 🌊 that I’ve seen complete beginners go to intermediate fast. 🤙
Get an instructor, surfing is a calm sport no need to rush anything, start with a long board, follow all the safety instructions, be patient with yourself it’s a lot to remember at first, and tell me how you felt after you ride that first wave 🥰
it’s a great feeling and yea very mellow. gone a few different spots and had lessons for the basics, just not looking for like el zonte type surf, more like biarritz is abt the level rn
Been a long time since I've been in the surf. The Pipeline during a passing typhoon. Very violent. But cathartic. I was crazy then..🌊🙂

Bodyboarding is fun too. Great start for learning waveriding…but can progress to elite and critical level as well. Something to consider.
