A fake Ledger Live app was discovered on Microsoft's app store, resulting in the theft of approximately $588,000 in Bitcoin. The scam tricked users into downloading the fake app, which claimed to be a user interface for storing cryptocurrency offline. The scammer received 16.8 BTC through 38 transactions, with $115,200 leaving the wallet in two transactions.

this is why cryptography is a better gatekeeper than a trusted third party.

the app obviously was posted in such a way as to exploit the search engine and appear to be from Ledger.
