Sitting with two aunts who are recently widowed. They worked their whole life putting into social security but they don’t get access to it anymore. They get ONE social security check from their husband’s social security.
So yeah two working adults their entire lives but one social security check evaporates when their husband dies.
This is by design. Social security is the states version of life insurance. Their husbands probably paid in their whole life, never got fully paid out what they put in.
The state won.
The state is betting you die before you can receive all the money you put in.
That's a shame brother. They should be entitled to both, but this all by design. Thankfully, I'm not worried about ever collecting SS. The only thing I want from the Government is for it to implode, and disintegrate. They've ruined enough lives.
