I'm seeing more-and-more client lock-in to external linkage of events. Sort of depressing.

if a client suggests an app it should be because you or people you trust have endorsed it for that particular kind with NIP-89, this is terrible 🤦♂️
One of the superpowers of nostr is interoperability and putting users in control of how they want to see and interact with the content. These examples are the antithesis of openness :Sadge:
Le sigh
Hey, nostr:npub1zuuajd7u3sx8xu92yav9jwxpr839cs0kc3q6t56vd5u9q033xmhsk6c2uc I've been recommending listr.lol everywhere, as a neutral utility for editing lists. This doesn't look very neutral.
What’s your suggestion? To be honest, I prioritize good UX over pure neutrality. But I’m open to ideas.
How is this client lockin? The ability to copy the id means the user can take that to their app of choice.
Suggesting primal is a convenience, sure, and some apps like njump have others, but that to begins a cat and mouse game for implementation options.
The whole idea of Nostr is that the individual apps are neutral, but interoperable, so that users can intentionally decide which ones they use. It's increasingly the case that the ostensibly independent projects are specifically funneling users from one to the other, with this sort of nudging-marketing, so that it's a narrowing circle of apps, that users are confronted with.
I mean, they can do that, but then I'm just going to assume that they are all somehow related.
Nosta.me also forwards everyone directly to Primal, now. 😔
All apps are turning into feeder-apps for Primal.
Probably always did that.
All apps lead to Primal.
You can have your connection to any app, so long as it's Primal.
I mean, think about this workflow:

nostr:npub1de6l09erjl9r990q7n9ql0rwh8x8n059ht7a267n0q3qe28wua8q20q0sd it just never ends. It's like an app virus. 😅
Especially ironic, as I bet a lot of Nosta.me's traffic is coming from #Nostrudel, not Primal.
Why does everyone like primal?
I haven’t used it yet… & won’t…
I guess it's because they have a big marketing budget. New people usually enter over Primal and most of them stay there.
Ah that would make a lot of sense.
I like Damus cuz it’s easy & Nostrudel when I want to feel like a power user lol
I usually float between Nostrudel and Nostter, but I'm sometimes on Amethyst, now. Like the Voyage app, as well, but it needs more polish.
Never heard of voyage app or nostter is that a web client?
I’m currently trying Amethyst on my cheap moto droid I just got… weird getting used to using the flow of android.
Voyage saves a lot of bandwidth, so that might be nice for when I'm off the WiFi.
This seems pretty kew, I’m gonna check this out more…
Nosta stats are public, if you're curious: https://eu.umami.is/share/Jmc84OrAe0BFvHB8/nosta.me
I'm curious what the reason is for this. Do they have concerns with something like Njump, is Primal offering something that Njump is lacking?
I will say, from UI/UI perspective It's weird to me that other clients are linking to another client in general.
