I remember a guy I worked with back in 2004ish, the same thing happened to him. I believe it was even longer, like 13 hours.

They had just dished up breakfast and then had to make an emergency landing so quickly whipped away our trays and chucked the food…there was nothing but pretzels and vodka/whiskey miniatures handed around for the rest of the time we were on the plane. Exceptional circumstances and very harrowing day - everyone was just kind and patient to one another.
