Male therapists for the win! I get this all the time. People come in and are like, āWoah a male therapist? Thatās super gay!ā Or, āA guy giving me a massage? Creepy!ā Then we sit and chat for a bit and they receive my massage and wondered why it ever even mattered in the first place! I donāt miss couples massages. Some insecure guy giving me the side eye while I massage his wife? No thanks. Male therapists tend to be a bit more technical and kind of have to be stronger in their practice because they canāt get by on being cute and personable. The spa director at my old job vetoed the decision of the hiring manager because the massage therapist girl was attractive. But hey, I prefer being liked on merit than my looks. Anyways, Iām glad you had a good experience!
