But in the interim. Is there any harm in putting my existing sim from my iphone into my new pixel?
Depends on what you are trying to do. It will associate that device with your SIM so if you're trying to be anon that phone is burned. But if you bought the phone with your CC or using it at your home address then it probably doesn't matter.
Mostly just for extra privacy from app tracking and such. My opsec isnt james bond level

Hmm. I see that is a struggle (I was also coming from Google Contacts environment and I just pared down my stuff manually and imported all the v-cards). I would suggest searching his channel. Each channel has a magnifying glass icon (at least, on desktop, they do)
