Nothing wakes you up faster than a the sheer panic of your computer not booting because it says it can't find your harddrives.

I guess my BIOS battery is dead because when my computer ran out of battery last night it also reset the BIOS into UEFI mode and I boot via legacy boot.

I use Proxmox and a cluster of 3 old laptops; I dodged many hours of recovery, and I sleep very well at night 😉

Definitely. All my important data is backed up like SSH keys and projects and stuff. It's just always a little bit panic-inducing when the computer still fails to boot.

I wouldn't be totally dead in the water because I have other laptops that I can pull pieces and repair from, but it's not how I would want to spend my day when I have a deadline coming up.
