I turned mine on and didn't have any issue, we use Surfshark.

Hmm. Wonder why my VPN is not liked by Google. It’s not a sketchy company afaik.

Turns out that the two locations I generally connect to are not liked by Google. Changed to a different location and it’s working now. Who knew!
