The Silk Roads by Peter Frankopan is a slow, long, and mostly interesting read up until the 20th century sections and beyond.

The Witchcraft of Salem Village is a much smaller and also interesting listen.

I also liked Code Girls, which is about the women who worked as codebreakers during WWII.
