1) Theft prevention - unusable for purchasing snacks at the commissary.

2) Lighter and easier to hold, less likely to cause injury if thrown or if a handful were dropped into a sock and used as a weapon on the yard.

3) Plastic has a lifespan of thousands of years while the metal will oxidize in many environments

4) Safer for children to interact with in a play environment, much less likely to lead to charges of defacement.

5) Won’t be stolen to put into one of those penny stretching defacement devices at zoos and aquariums.
