Fuuuuuuck, I don’t even like the language! 🐢🐾😭😭😭😭😭😭

Your passion shows in your code.

Stop resisting.

You love PHP πŸ«‚πŸ’œ

Damn it!!! 🐢🐾😭😭😭😭😭

Do you use a framework?

I always reach for laravel, it's so fucking good truly

I wish, that’s a next step! Laravel is the next rewrite 🐢🐾😭

Never tried it but heard good things about it…, personally I used CakePHP v2 and v3 and liked them a lot before I ventured into Node

Laravel gives you access to Vue and that is great! 🐢🐾🫑

To me PHP is laravel, PHP actually is bad without it. Would never do a PHP project without it no matter how small.

But probably not doing anymore PHP projects

People still code in PHP?!

Unfortunately 🐢🐾😭😭😭

It is the ugliest of ugly.

80% of the internet runs in PHP

So yes. Yes they do.

I know. But that is because of Wordpress, right?

Facebook is a big one. They made a whole language called hack for it

WordPress plays a huge role but many staple FOSS web apps are PHP... Prestashop, NextCloud, Woocommerce etc

When was the last time you used PHP? I find most of the haters opinion is from like php3 20 years ago

It has types now, so it makes me feel less dirty 🐢🐾🫑

Oh that is good. I hated JavaScript before TS.

It has been about 10 years since I looked at any PHP.

It was same for me before I started contributing to nostr.build 🐢🐾🀣

It's quite clean now. Types, enums, named arguments, closures, null safe operators, pattern matching... Very mature and stable frameworks...

It's not just hacking garbage into html anymore, pretty respectable little OOP language!

But my new love is rust

Sounds quite respectable now. I don’t know if I’ll find a need for it, but at least I know not to be afraid. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

My newest love is Go. Quite easy to learn and very powerful. Might look into Rust someday, but probably not for a while…

I knew you’d love it. It’s great once you make it through the learning curve.
