Facebook is a big one. They made a whole language called hack for it
WordPress plays a huge role but many staple FOSS web apps are PHP... Prestashop, NextCloud, Woocommerce etc
When was the last time you used PHP? I find most of the haters opinion is from like php3 20 years ago

Oh that is good. I hated JavaScript before TS.
It has been about 10 years since I looked at any PHP.
It was same for me before I started contributing to nostr.build πΆπΎπ€£
It's quite clean now. Types, enums, named arguments, closures, null safe operators, pattern matching... Very mature and stable frameworks...
It's not just hacking garbage into html anymore, pretty respectable little OOP language!
But my new love is rust
Sounds quite respectable now. I donβt know if Iβll find a need for it, but at least I know not to be afraid. π ππ
My newest love is Go. Quite easy to learn and very powerful. Might look into Rust someday, but probably not for a whileβ¦
