Be afraid (or inspired). European bureaucrats vibe-coding the #eurostack

Be suspicious of anyone who is trying to sell you "paradise" or some other sort of Utopia.
The very definition of slideware there.
I don’t think they are that advanced yet. Note that the monitor is off in the picture and paper predominates the meeting.
On the one hand, I want this to succeed because of the state we're in of the Quasi-Nationalization of American Tech...
On the other hand, this looks like exactly the kind of bureaucratic morass that keeps the EUs economy stagnant.
I think there is a better way - to focus on protocols and capabilities that succeed despite the state.
I mean, that makes sense but -- isn't a lot of the Eurostack stuff specifically about more of the "infrastructure", and/or business software layer?
Like alternative to AWS, etc -- these things aren't really about protocols vs closed source, it's more of building data centers?
They are thinking: ‘instead of’ versus ‘despite’. My approach is that we should use these base infrastructures in a way that we are not dependent on them and can migrate. For example, instead of an IP address, use a NPUB address. Instead of certificate authorities, be your own authority using a NPUB.
