Transitioning away from a society who is asset/credit wealthy to a society of wealthy value producers is going to be complete chaos as Jeff points out. I say this as fighter jets fly over my head right now like pointing a gun at other countries to convince them we are wealthy is going to still work.
Americans are most scared of this transition because we are the most asset rich, and the most value poor country on the planet.
