I haven't ever been happy about the death of a tyrant

But I'm fortunate to have never lived under a tyrant

My faith forbids me from celebrating any death, however evil their deeds

I can't say for sure how I'd react if I were Iranian

And I certainly wouldn't presume to tell Iranians how *they* should react

Every face in the collage below is someone who was murdered for speaking out against the Iranian regime

This is what real dissidence under real regimes looks like

Because you have never witnessed the mass killing of innocent people. Because you have never seen the tears of grieving mothers whose children's only crime was demanding their rights. Because you have lived in a country where the idea of cutting off the internet for a week so that tyrants can massacre protesting people and prevent dissidents from sending their messages to the world is unimaginable. In what history have women been killed for their hijab? Men have been executed by firing squad in less than twenty minutes without any trial. Let the people of Iran rejoice for all those 45 years during which every day they heard the news of an innocent person being killed; perhaps it can be a balm for wounds that will never heal because our loved ones will never return to our arms.

Yeah, I believe you would have rejoined too. Experiencing living under a tyrant changes you.

May they all get a chance to punch him in the face on his way to hell.
