While western politicians sit on their hands and while some even do performative actions to call out Israel, itās nowhere near enough because they continue to allow Israel to keep destroying the very existence of the Palestinian people in the most well documented genocide in history. Meanwhile heroes like this are literally putting their lives on the line heading into the teeth of the beast of the worst, most anti-life ideology in modern history (Zionism).
For the rest of my life I will not hesitate to call out Zionism for exactly what it is, no matter what the personal cost is. I deeply love our Muslim brothers and sisters and would like to make it a part of my life mission to build bridges between #Christians and #Muslims. Would love to use Nostr in whatever ways I can to do that and Iāve learned a lot about Bitcoin through the lens of #halal money. I would love to visit the the West Bank and Lebanon some day and I would love to learn Arabic. My personal experience with Muslims has been polar opposite of what hateful Westerners would want you to believe. Disproportionately hospitable, loving people especially compared to the jihadist propaganda we grew up with. In just a couple months on here, Iāve been amazed at how much can happen when you just initiate and throw stuff out to the network. Itās been an incredibly powerful feedback loop. A little context, throughout my life Iāve been befriended by many Muslims and have experienced disproportionate hospitality, warmth and loyalty in those friendships. In modern, western culture of lust, excess and depravity I also respect the healthy conservatism (in ethical, not political party sense) I see in vast majority of Islamic life. Unfortunately some of the most hateful people in the world towards Muslims are American āChristiansā and so we as Christians have so much reconciliation and ownership of wrongdoing we need to own. I didnāt grow up religious at all in Seattle, so I had a very low opinion of Christians as well. Even after becoming a Christian later in life I still have a very low opinion of the faith of some of my brothers and sisters in the Christian faith.
No idea what form any collaboration may take down the road, but one of the coolest things about Nostr is that you can just try stuff and initiate with people. Iāve found that the hit rate on here is much higher in terms of the proportion of quality of people you meet. One of the healthiest signs of the health of the community is that I havenāt seen one piece of Zionist propaganda on here in two months.
