Here's HOW it works.
You have a client π€³(the app you're using). That let's you post notes. π
But how do these notes reach other users? πββοΈπ ---> πββοΈ?
It works by using relaysπ to literally pass notes around. If you post a note, the relay you're connected to passes it on to everyone else that's also connected to that relay.

Got it? That's how it "works". But why use this over Twitter or whatever?
So when you use the app you'll see people talking about zaps β‘οΈ
Zaps are sorta like a Like π but you also lets you send/recieve actual bitcoin money at the same time. (It sends bitcoin via the lightning network. It's super fast. β‘οΈβ‘οΈβ‘οΈ) ya get it?
Bitcoin (βΏ) are denominated in Sats β‘οΈ.
Just like how a dollar π΅is denominated in cents πͺ.
10 million (10,000,000) sats = 1 Bitcoin (BTC)
You can send 1 sat or a hundred million sats or anything in between! Whatever you want.
Zaps can be used in many ways. They are a way to show appreciation for others' content. β‘οΈπ€π½Maybe you learned something useful β‘οΈπ§ or u saw an awesome meme β‘οΈπ€£. They can be used to send funny "secret" messages to friendsβ‘οΈπ€«π. You can zap anything you want however much and often as you wish. Quickest and easiest (but not necessarily the best) way to get it set up (u can learn abt better ways later):
1) Download Wallet of Satoshi app.
2) Click on receive button and copy the email address address looking thing (***@walletofsatoshi.com).
Example (use yours not mine unless you want me recieving your zaps!)
3) open up settings in your nostr app (ex. Damus or Amythest) and paste the address from step 2 into the LN Address (Lightning Address) box.
4) Click save or Post.
5) get zappy and get zappedβ‘οΈβ‘οΈβ‘οΈ
