I think Nikka and Yamazaki are generally assumed to be the best brands.

would suggest a Yamazaki 12yr if you want to go premium.

I hear it's gotten expensive though.

Nikka coffey grain used to be a really good, fairly inexpensive option

I've tried Nikka before, it's quite solid, as I recall.

theyre all solid I think.

the Japanese just dont produce crap.
