Google secretly installed this app on various Android devices without users’ permission.

Reports suggest that it can scan through your photo gallery and takes up 2GB of storage.

You might want to check your phones; you can just uninstall it from the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.safetycore

So, some clients let you undo accidental reposts, and others just keep posting over and over.

This is nuts … 🌰

Fucking fuckstick fuckery

What’s crazy is that they named it system safety core - trying to pretend like it’s just some system process you shouldn’t worry about AND going out of the way to make sure you can’t stop the download - even on cellular despite disabling cellular downloads. That is is sinister stuff

Outside of the auto-installing an app mess, this is actually quite cool if it does what GrapheneOS thinks it does: https://x.com/GrapheneOS/status/1888280836426084502

Too bad this GrapheneOS post isn’t on Nostr instead of X.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Are you really sure you should be removing that?

I mean, it's in the title. "Safety Core."

You do want to be safe, don't you?

All the safety

"Think of the children!"

doing some more digging, multiple sources also, tim Sweeney reposted it. if i find something, i will let you know.

Not on my phone. I own my phone.

Thanks my friend! I've already uninstalled this crap from my system.
