This is literally one of the absolute best things you can do for your body. And whenever you eat out, ask if they can cook it in butter instead of oil. nostr:note1hxgu4h7c48evg52362qurw8l2f4eezupavutg204mcne40hkjqpsuplle7

Yes. Knowing your farmer is freedom tech.

Where does peanut oil fall in all of this?

I’ve always heard to stay away from it as well. Supposedly not as bad as canola, soy and its ilk, but still a seed oil with many of the same associated issues.

Trickiest for me is sesame oil. Not great per se, but poké is inedible without it- and I love me some poké for the same reasons I hate me some seed oils.

You do realise that it's all dose dependent right? And you know that more in human randomised control trials that over consumption of saturated fats is way worse than "seed oils" whilst avoiding these oils is definitely wise it's way more naunced than saying just eat saturated fats without tracking them. It's simply not as black and white as this posts suggests. In fact just telling people to just smash saturated fats without any other advice is pretty shitty.

In the 50 years we have done the most to replace healthy, natural saturated fats with seed oils and horribly oxidized fats, we have become the sickest & fattest generation of this country’s history.

The prevailing sentiment on this topic and academic “science” is extremely poor and I’ve never seen anything that didn’t start with huge presumptions that were tied to the same errors.

The entire movement of “saturated fats cause heart disease” is started from an explicitly fraudulent study. Can’t remember the name of the scientist (he was on the cover of Time Magazine tho), but he showed an extensive study of 9 countries on a plot showing the more saturated fats in their diet, the more cardiovascular disease… only many years later we found out he manipulated the data, and had actually studied *23* countries, and just removed all the data that screwed up his pretty graph.

The science around diet has always been poor and requires tons of assumptions because of its nature. Controls are virtually impossible. This it suffers from both bad incentives and as well as cultural group think that reinforces the “standard diet” thinking.

The simple truth is available to who anyone who simply changes their diet and cuts all this poisonous, oxidized crap out of their body, and eats normal food. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hey I'm with you on this topic as I was the same as you when I fell down this rabbit hole many years ago. But it got to a point where I couldn't ignore the controller trials in humans which is the gold standard in studies which we should form an opinion on. And it suggests that the poison is in the dosage. So unfortunately just saying to swap seed oils with saturated fats is some miracle fix then that's is fucking dumb and naive.

I hope you delve much further down your wellness journey 🙏🏽

Reminds me of the quote, “When it comes to fats I trust nature more than scientists.”

Agreed 🫡
