You can disable this; forgot how but I used to have the same issue.
Newpipe (youtube client) on Android. Download the songs you like create your own playlists.
Im using Apple Music, but I’m more and more thinking about owning music again instead of streaming. But I think it will be more an addition instead of replacing it completely.
But the idea that we‘re not even owning our culture (music, movies, art…) anymore, is just freaking crazy.

I'm curious where you land on this. I don't enjoy the Spotify experience. YouTube Music is better imo but I still feel like weird about the state of music "ownership."

why does Spotify feel so much more user friendly to use than any other music app out there in your opinion?
I'm a fan of YouTube Music, myself. But mostly because it came bundled with YouTube Premium.
