Water method is pretty spot on. Definitely in the 250-300+ range for the seed amount. Much longer than 4 hours, I'd say 12-16. Refrigerated. Garlic isn't needed, IMO, though it might help the earthy taste. It's certainly hard to strain, it's a pretty meaty drink to down. Earthy.
You HAVE to use untreated seeds. Personally, never heard of "washing" them, I just always looked for untreated, all natural. Buying in the small, retail packages, is pointless.
Cheers.
Thanks for the insight. I will harvest the seed pods in the late summer, early fall. I will only take seeds from growing plants, knowing they are not treated. One year I found thousands growing next to a corn field in Idiana. They was a bonus.
Another year, I found hundreds growing outside the botany lab at Uconn. Double bonus for a college kid.
This year, my daughter decided to grow them in a patch of bad soil. The looked like they weren't gonna make it a month ago. I took over soil conditioning and fertilizer. I still have a bug problem. Borax doesn't seem to help all to well. I might switch to nicotine, but more bloom every day.
We have a lot of pollinators, so I expect flowers all summer. You can see the before and after. Pretty much same angle, different date.
