Sadly I read #books (daily) since about 5 years only, but it changed my complete worldview! This picture is so perfect. 🤙
P.s. Audiobooks are shitcoins. Why? Because you're remembering on way less details compared to when you're reading them.

Reading books also helps boost empathy and perspective taking.
Disagree about audio books. While I prefer to read if not for audio books bluntly I'd be a lot dumber. Audio is the most powerful form of media on the planet. Video and print require focus, they can't be used with a multi task approach.
I listen to books when I walk, work out, garden, drive. None can be done with print. None with video.
I am honestly financially independent due to the power of audio. I became business and network educated as a young man driving a lot in corporate sales, listening to things about marketing, sales, networking, investing, entrepreneurship, etc. I took all the windshield time (where I was very highly paid btw) and gave myself a practical MBA meaning it was actually useful.
I then built several businesses, and eventually sold to my partners and left that world in 2009. Since then I have done very well as what, a podcater. I put out the equivalent of an audio book a week in time of content.
When I did episode 1500 we had people call and leave messages limited to 2 minutes, most were under one. They called in and say what they had changed in their lives due to the show. The calls were about elimination of debt, building wealth, buying their dream homesteads, building businesses, etc.
The show lasted over FIVE HOURS.
Audio is not a "shitcoin", this analogy is the most over used analogy in the bitcoin space.
Completely agree with Jack on audiobooks. I travel constantly for work and audiobooks are perfect for me. I listen to usually 20-30 audiobooks per year. I’ve learned a tremendous amount across a wide range of subjects in the past 10 years due to Audiobooks. I often listen to the audiobooks and if it’s a more technical subject or just one that I want to dive deeper into, then I’ll read the physical book or kindle version. Audio is also the format that I use for all the podcasts I listen to.
Congratulations (for real)! For some of you it is working. I tested my friends on this and after they listened the Bitcoin Standard in an audiobook format they remembered way less compered to when they read it in a book form. I made this "research" with other books too and the results were the same. Maybe because my friends and I are ordinary people...
I agree with Jack, on audio books. I have listened to more books that I would never have picked up. Audio books are not all equal. Some are produced with such high production value, they are literally Aural Theatre.
Even a book on algorithms (Gladwell) more palatable listening. Oh, and I can listen with completing some other physical task. Audio books are expensive however you can connect to 100's of library's and listen for free, eg. Libby App.
I’d rather read a book but both have a purpose
Agree. Love reading but audiobooks on 1.5x speed have increased amount of learning and my audio comprehension skills. I am a much better visual learner. But audiobooks have narrowed the gap.
Audiobooks are great. I can work while listening to a book. Also after a while, you run out of music and podcasts to listen to while working.
Certain books have to actually be read the traditional way. Most belletry doesn't have to be actually read unless you care a great deal about details.
I also tend to remember better what I read vs. what I listen to. However, audiobooks enable you to "read" at times when you otherwise couldn't read, such as when driving, walking, exercising. And you can gain a lot from that, too.
