Does apple still have that policy where they don't allow apps in the app store that do a feature they already make?

Can people make web browsers that compete with Safari, and calendar or notes apps?

I doubt it. They have multiple podcast platforms and offer their own.

Oh wow. Progress then. This old policy was the reason I went with Android instead of Apple when I first got a smart phone.

This gives me hope that in another 5 to 10 years Apple may allow apps with zaps.

The process is highly arbitrary / discretionary.

Depends which reviewer you get, depends what day of the week, time of day, etc, etc.

Just a handful of employees in an extremely repetitive business process following their interpretation of a guideline document and trying to meet some KPI’s.

In general, you’ve always been able to make an app that shares functionality with their features.

So calendar and notes apps: yes.

Web browsers are different because they can run arbitrary code, so that’s a no.
