The Nostur Report 2024

This is my second end of year report, along with some of my favorite bookmarks and thank you's.

This year there were 7 Nostur app store releases and over 36 TestFlight releases, some feature highlights from this year:

- Nostr Nests integration (Live audio spaces)

- Live video streams and chats

- Outbox / Relay Autopilot

- Video uploads

- Top Zaps

- Discover and 😂-feeds

- VPN detection

- Relay connection statistics

I build Nostur by building the features I want and need:

Demand for nostr in 2024 and beyond?

We may have gotten some more free speech on Twitter but it's still the same centralized system where you don't own your account and where the platform decides what you get to see. Demand for nostr is similar to demand for bitcoin, every time the alternatives fail it grows, and the alternatives keep failing. nostr just needs to be there and ready, and I will do my part with Nostur.

A few things coming in 2025:

- A big one that was meant for 2024 but didn't make it yet is the multi column desktop version

- Improved import/export: Nostur stores most of your data on your device instead of on public relays, this good for privacy and security but bad for interoperability with other nostr apps. Some data can already be exported easily but in order to be a good nostr-citizen this needs improvement.

- Improved Olas/Picture support

- Better search and filtering in bookmarks

- Finally rename Nostur to... ehh?
