To me it's just silly, I'm outside right now, on a spotty connection and I've zapped you from my own lightning node which sits in my house and is only accessible over tor, no issues, no failed payments. Yes lightning sucked years ago, but now it just works with almost never any issue

Lightning is pretty neat, but it does have its quirks. I still have not set up a channel but I haven't yet needed the liquidity.
