Yeah, you have to keep it clean when you're fermenting.
It was 90% cleaning and 10% brewing for sure.
Star San all your tools and go. Sometimes I've even used vinegar to sanitize. Spray and wipe. I don't super obsess with sanitizing most times. Never had an off batch yet.
Spent most of my time cleaning kegs and fermenters TBH. Was too smalltime to afford a proper keg washer so I had to disassembled them for cleaning. I like whiskey better. I'm considerably more laid back.
