Every adult should have their fasting Insulin level checked.

If your doc doesn't know what that is, tell her/him it's CPT code 83525...

If your doc asks why you want it, say

"A fasting insulin test is crucial for assessing insulin resistance, a precursor to type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome. It provides early insight into metabolic health, often before glucose levels are affected, enabling proactive interventions to prevent chronic diseases and improve long-term health outcomes."

I’m lucky I have a family doctor in Canada, but I’ll test my luck by asking him this question next time I see him.

I can look up what level is "normal" but at what level would you be concerned if someone is eating a proper human diet? And what level for the standard American diet?

what do you think of insulin going too low after religious keto or carnivore and kidney being unable to balance electrolytes and ending up with heart palpitations? is that a plausable theory?
