If you spend long enough on nostr you'll be encouraged to hate lightning and to love ecash... just be aware and think for yourself... integration with nostr isn't the only success criteria.

Why hate lightning? They both come with pros and cons. Ecash is probably better for small amounts like zaps

Yeah my note wasn't so clear.

I mean I feel there's a bit of a marketing campaign (or psyop) to create dissatisfaction with lightning while promoting ecash as the shiny new thing. It's the first time I've felt I'm being 'managed' since I left twitter and I don't like it.

Got it. I guess people are trying to figure out what these things are even supposed to be and some probably think they compete with one another. I see them as two solutions trying to solve two different things. I'm a fan of both

I love lightning, it’s brilliant. Many people have unrealistic expectations of it but it’s proven tech which is helping to scale Bitcoin.

Lightning and ecash are complimentary. How else would people pay each other if they are connected to different ecash mints?
