infosec tip: stop oversharing (online and off)

a single piece of personal information might seem harmless on its own, but when combined with other openly available information that has been shared or is accessible, it can be analyzed by threat actors or open source intelligence (OSINT) practitioners to build a detailed picture of you, your location, your workplace, and the people around you, and can make it easier to impersonate you.

This is so obvious now, but 30 seconds ago I was clueless! thanks !

But French Bulldogs don’t answer to anything πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I've been getting more self conscious about this lately and questioning if I am slightly oversharing. I guess it helps not owning anything though.

My real name is Mike Oksmol

Get a custom plate thats a random series of 8 and B

Back in 2012-2013, I had a "BITCOIN" license plate on my vehicle. I gave it up because when the price of bitcoin crashed between April and May 2013, I had multiple instances where I would come to a stop at a stop light and would get people coming up to the vehicle angrily pounding on my windows and yelling that they lost all their life savings on bitcoin when it crashed.

The highest price of bitcoin in April 2013, so even if you bought the top back then, was around $260.00 per bitcoin.

The lowest price of bitcoin in May 2013, even if you panic sold at the bottom that month, was around $80.00.

Lesson to be learned is to just HODL, and not have a bitcoin license plate on your vehicle, else you risk being attacked by idiots.

AI tools probably can make this kind of analysis available to amateurs too I would think.

Why would the government want to impersonate m.....oh ooooh you mean the OTHER kind of bad actors. Gotcha.
