There is a niche-popular book out there claiming nuclear weapons are fake (not nuclear reactors/power, the author cedes that these work). Was just in a thread I replied to this morning. Maybe Path is referring to this. I have no opinion about book for now, as I haven't read much of it, but it's an interesting premise

I can assure you first hand nuclear weapons are very real. I guess the book is a work of fiction.
Yeah, I'm not prepared to dismiss them from skimming a few pages of a random book, don't worry. Just it's only "evidence" I've been shown when this topic comes up. Debating spending more time reading it...might be a waste of time, might be entertaining...
Good copy. Being open minded and well read is never a waste of time. Just stay grounded in facts and verify.
I've been to ground zero in Hiroshima and Chernobyl and can assure you, nuclear power isn't real.
The concept of nuclear fission for power stations is the same as for weapons.
It is only how enriched the material is that matters in that respect. ( From memory )
ergo, the only way the premise makes any sort of sense is to claim we cannot enrich the radioactive material enough. Or perhaps an inability to detonate?
That's a different claim, and still wrong. We can.
The seems to be a weird trait for the human mind now, whereby if someone can't understand something, they tend toward believing it to be fake news, rather than trying to understand it.
We are so fvcked š
I welcome you to jump in thread (2-3 hours ago on my timeline, and discuss with someone who's read the book recently and pretty smart. I don't have any real understanding of how they're meant to work, and likely won't anytime soon, so can't really weigh in other than how unlikely such a massive ruse/coverup would be.
