Attention, nature enthusiasts! 🚨 Brace yourself for a detailed account. This might not be a flawless snapshot - the animal isn't playing peek-a-boo with the camera, and there's a bit of a tree photobomb. But here's why I love it: this Sable was a chance encounter on the drive from Selous to Mikumi, not within the confines of a park.

Spotting them 75 yards off the road, the male and female were navigating through thick vegetation. Swiftly grabbing my camera, which we had packed after leaving Selous, proved a challenge. By the time we were ready, the union had doubled their distance - now 150 yards away.

This shot, imperfect as it may be, offers a glimpse of the sheer coolness exuded by these creatures. Fun fact: According to the African Wildlife Foundation, approximately 75,000 Sables roam the wild, spanning 11 countries. A true rarity, this Sable stole the spotlight as the rarest sighting during our entire trip.
