Well it is the most unsafe and inefficient form of travel ever designed. Scaling issues, On mass scale it is only ever increasing traffic. Tire burning is horrific for the environment. Plus it silos nature preserves and animal migration. For instance, the average tesla battery charge can power a 100 E-bikes.
People in cities can ride trains and such. It's just not practical for the rest of us.
The economy is slowly pricing people out of a car year by year anyways (because government policies and free market alike) At some point a personal mode of transportation like a car will be only for the upper class unfortunately.
