I don't want to generate debate, but I don't understand who wants to pay for a NIP-05 identifier. I can understand that there are paid relay's, but you can fight spam and bots in many ways. I have seen prices of up to 45,000 sats for an identifier! Have we gone mad?

If the goal is to fight bots, 100 sats would be enough, wouldn't it?

And no, it is not expensive to host a NIP-05 service, a media server or a relay server is another thing, but just to validate?

I don't understand that either. @npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63mmust have a multitude of domains that can certify that it is indeed him. That is the purpose of the NIP05 verification. But of course not everyone has the money or the time to have and maintain their own domain, in this case the verifiers make sense.
