I'm turning 40 this week. (Yay!) And as a millenial who witnessed the birth of the Internet and all the social media Apps...

Nostr is nostalgic to the *very* essence of the best parts of the Internet: Napster P2P file sharing, ICQ P2P chat, IRC file sharing, Torrents, MySpace music sharing, etc.

Something about this feels like stepping back to 2000 with one foot, but also into the future of say 2050 with the other.

So rad. All of this.

I remember no internet. ZX Spectrum, Speak and Spell, BBC micro, etch-a-sketch, Atari and Amiga. Those were halcyon days…

😂 Puts a lot of what we have today into perspective. We all played outside too. Had to telephone to make arrangements to meet up at the local park. BMX’s everywhere 😁

It is actually. It’s funny. A bunch of us olds have now bought back those old BMX’s etc. I guess trying to recapture or youth again lol.

I trawl marketplace and craigslist for a 1991 Hinda Prelude in good condition. Go figure. Hahaha. All of our beloved stuff is now collectible.

🎯 definitely puts it in perspective. Biking around with my friends on the Haro bike I saved up for a bought is a core memory.
