I can tell the Knobs cult is growing because every day I need to mute more of them.

I'm not a Core cult member or a Knots cult member, I'm a "I generally like the idea of multiple implementations" cult member.
I don’t run Core either. (My node runs bitcoind.) I just think this whole fight is retarded and people need to fucking chill out and find a way to work together because from the outside, it looks like amateur hour over here.
I want one shared library for the consensus rules, then I don't mind how many implementations exist of everything else.
It's not easy though. 'Consensus rules' isn't just "validate each block", but also is relevant for the relay network, e.g. compact block relay and so on.
Isn't it just the logical conclusion of kn*ts?
Users want more node control knobs provides that.
It doesn't make any difference to me though.
Nah, it’s not logical to put all your faith in one person’s interpretation of the code, especially when that someone keeps attacking other developers personally and is constantly ratcheting up the volume and whipping people into a frenzy about a known issue that has existed for years. You have just as much control without running his software, and in fact what Knobs does is invite even worse and more permanent types of spam by encouraging the use of multiple fake UTXOs that could—you won’t believe it—contain illicit material if the publisher were so inclined.
Or the AI powered bots are multiplying.
