I almost want to learn latin to read things like De Architectura in its original form. I’m super impressed by builders from antiquity. Wondering what can be learned from them. Maybe even in relation to software architecture:
Strength: code quality and robustness
Utility: does the code actually does something useful
Beauty: aesthetics and ux
People were thinking about these things for a long time before us, and the things they build still stand today and are beautiful. We’ve lost a lot of wisdom.
The craziest part is that we couldn't build things like they used to even if we wanted to
