Did you do “mute conversation” at the very top of the hellthread? I can’t remember if that matters, but it can’t hurt. It’s possible though that it only mutes downstream of the note you muted the convo from
not sure if it's a bug or by design, but notes in subthreads of a muted conversation show up in notifications. imo muting a conversation should mute all notes in the the thread including subthreads.

Seems like #Damus muted old notes, but new notes in the same thread are still pinging me. 
It also indicates that I muted the users, but that was not my intent. Just want to mute the #hellthread 😂

If so, what is even the point of muting a thread?? I must be missing something
All the direct child notes are muted, but if people start commenting on those notes and their children, the notifications will start showing up. I think it’s just a bug.
It’s either that or mute every person that posts in the hellthread. That’s what I used to do before Damus added the ability to mute a conversation. I’ve been in almost every single hellthread. It sucks. 😂
you have to also mute subthreads that spawn in the hellthread 😂
