It was established in 1980 and is still out there. Bulletin boards and forums and newsgroups. Kind of proto-Nostr because it wasn’t a company.

I didn’t get into it until 1992 when I went to college. A Norwegian sent me some electronic music he composed. It’s when I understood how borderless communication and connections could be and how exciting the future would be. ⚡️
