It's always about opportunity costs. Is it better to stay in your fiat job, head down, and stack? Or take the risk, bring your skills to BTC and see what happens?
I think a good starting-off point is a mixture of both. Starting side projects to learn and experiment

Getting involved with Bitcoin projects on the side has been really great.
I’ve also started working on a Bitcoin article of my own, which I’m excited to share with the space when it’s finished.
